2014 – 2015 I was lucky enough to return to the newsroom at WGN Radio, doing soIMG_0200me fill-in work as well as anchoring Sunday afternoons with Dean Richards in the morning and the sports programs in the afternoon, featuring Dan Hampton talking (maybe more like yelling?) about the Chicago Bears.

1985 – 2003 After graduating from Roosevelt University with a degree in journalism, I started working at a small radio station in Elmhurst (WKDC — 1530 AM) that played nothing but show tunes. Gotta start somewhere.

Next, it was reporting and news anchoring for WJOL-AM in Joliet covering local stories, police beat, park board and school board. From there I went to Aurora to work as a news anchor and afternoon talk host for WMRO-AM. I eventually became part of the news staff at Satellite Music Network, a groundbreaking network (at the time in the mid-80s) that broadcast live programming 24-hours a day via satellite to more than 600 stations nationwide and in the Caribbean.

At the same time, I also began news anchoring for Chicago’s news station, WBBM-AM and did freelance work for WLS-AM and WGN-AM.

I have always found working in a radio news room to be one of the most exciting, demanding, and challenging experiences I’ve had. It is made so because of the people it attracts. To keep the needle moving, everyone works together as a team.wbbm
